I wrote a piece about this for a magazine once: one of my earliest memories was going to Venice at the age of eight. Except that all of these are making wines that are very much designed to make an impression. She came back to New York and called me. But please go back and finish the conversation with Victor about Barolo! She was 89. I learned quite a bit about Marcellas childhood in Italy from her wonderful memoir Amarcord, but Id like to hear your story of growing up in Italy in the 1930s.
